University of La Verne is a nonprofit, private university that has helped students pursue their passions and achieve success since 1891. Our faculty will challenge you to think creatively, communicate effectively, master a chosen discipline, and engage in your profession and community ethically and with a sense of purpose.

Personal Approach

With an average class size of 16 and student-to-faculty ratio of 12:1, you will be on a first-name basis with your professors. Small classes allow for meaningful discussions and personalized learning opportunities. You will also meet with your academic advisor every semester to discuss your goals and make sure you’re on track to graduate and start your career.

The La Verne Experience

The university offers a distinctive educational experience that embraces our four core values of ethical reasoning, diversity and inclusivity, lifelong learning, and civic and community engagement. And because a high-quality education goes beyond academics, La Verne provides a rich variety of campus activities to help you build community. Live on campus, make lifelong friends, participate in one of our 70-plus student clubs, or compete on one of our 18 NCAA athletic teams.

Southern California Advantage

Live and study at the edge of one of the most vibrant metropolises in the world. Our campus is in a tight-knit community nestled in the picturesque foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains, just 35 miles from Los Angeles. After class, you can explore the natural wonders, cultural landmarks, and recreational spaces of Southern California.
